- permanent connection: the applet makes repetitive requests to the news feed. News feed consists of a PHP script that parses a RSS feed and provides news in a simple format. The period the script updates is customizable.
- permanent rotation of news: news are moved up/down or down/up. When all news are displayed, it starts with the first news. If there was a new update meanwhile, the most recent updated news are displayed.
- customizable size, colors and fonts: you can set width and height, background colors for odd and even lines, foreground for text and for text on mouseover
- customizable rotation speed: you can set how fast the news are rotated
- customizable update period for news: you can set frequency for data refresh
- optional scrollbar: you can enable/disable scroll
- optional preload function: when preload is enabled, first news are loaded before displayed
- clickable links: when user clicks a link it is directed to a link. If news has no link associated, nothing happends
